Lashonda Hubbard is an accomplished entrepreneur with successful businesses and a non-profit of which she is the CEO. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she grew up in a loving family that instilled in her strong leadership skills and values. Her grandmother, Mrs. Armstrong, and her mother, Mrs. Sule, were instrumental in shaping her character and taught her to always rely on faith and integrity in all she does. Although she was raised in a supportive environment, Lashonda, like many, faced the systematic adversities of the inner city.
Lashonda's journey with individuals with disabilities began in her teenage years when she helped a friend whose son was diagnosed with encephalitis. This experience instilled a deep sense of compassion and a lifelong commitment to supporting children with developmental disabilities. Lashonda's dedication to social justice and empowerment of vulnerable populations has been a consistent thread in her personal and professional life.
Lashonda’s career spans over 30 years, beginning with her work as a school bus driver for children with developmental disabilities and visual impairments. She later expanded her efforts by opening a preschool, homes for individuals with disabilities, and a consulting business, all driven by her mission to create inclusive environments where individuals can thrive. Through these ventures, Lashonda has exemplified the value of collaboration and sustainability, ensuring the long-term success of the communities she serves.
As a proud business owner and wife, Lashonda’s greatest accomplishment remains her unwavering Christian faith, which her grandmother and mother taught her to hold dear. Empowerment and giving back to those considered outcasts of society are central to her life’s work. Currently, she serves as an ordained minister with a Doctor of Divinity designation and Life Coach certification, in addition to her role as CEO of the One Step One Change Foundation. Through her faith and her work, Lashonda believes that with Christ, all things are possible and that her mission is to create meaningful, transformative opportunities for those in need.
